The Discerning Eye
NOV 19 - DEC 31, 2020
The Discerning Eye annual exhibition is a show of small works independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world: two artists, two collectors and two critics. It provides an unusual opportunity for works by lesser-known artists to be hung alongside contributions from internationally recognised names helping artists increase their visibility among peers and collectors and to giving them a platform to grow.
Patrick’s reverspective works were chosen for the exhibition by art collector Mervyn Metcalf. Exhibited are the reverspective paintings, New Arrival, 2020 and Lusty, 2020.
For the first time this year the ING Discerning Eye exhibition is being held 100% virtually. The exhibition will open on Thursday 19th November at 7pm when the prize winners will also be announced. It will run until the 31st December 2020.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably
Patrick has donated an original print, Greybow, 2020 to the charity The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
On the same second Wednesday of each month, for 12 months, a different well known artist recruited by The Connor Brothers will release a limited edition print via the Jealous Gallery and Patrick Hughes is the first artist.
This wonderful charity is leading a movement against suicide – every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives, and 75% of all UK suicides are male.
They also run a free and confidential helpline and webchat for those affected by suicide: supportaftersuicide.org.uk.
