At the end of 2013 Patrick started work on a new painting reconfiguring one of the great masterpieces of the Renaissance; the intarsia studiolo created around 1480 for the Ducal Palace in Gubbio, Italy. A Study of the Studiolo is almost three metres in length and a reverspective tribute to the fifteenth century craftsmen and masters of perspectival illusion.

Patrick has recently finished a second work Studiolo Study for the British Academy. Painted in oil on board with collaged panels, 97.5 x 225 x 24 cm, the work has now been installed at the British Academy, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1.
