Patrick Hughes was born in the Second World War in Birmingham. He was a pupil at Hull Grammar School and the Leeds Day Training College.

He has written books on paradoxes, puns and oxymorons.

He has been showing with Angela Flowers Gallery for thirty-eight years. His reverspectives are very much admired and widely copied.

He is quite tall and short-sighted, used to be blond.
